Arabian Sea Dive

The northerly Arabian Gulf is very shallow – its average depth being only 35 m. This means that the sea temperature fluctuates greatly around the coast from about 10 oC in winter to as much as 35oC in summer. It is also very salty due to high evaporation and low rainfall. A combination of these factors explains the relatively few species in this area. Which is why the better diving is further south.
